Conduct.
Extract Summit is built for practitioners who believe in the open web. These are the rules that keep the space usable for everyone.
Our Commitment.
Extract Summit is committed to providing a welcoming and harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of age, body size, disability, ethnicity, gender identity and expression, level of experience, nationality, personal appearance, race, religion, or sexual identity and orientation.
This Code of Conduct applies to all Extract Summit spaces: online events, Discord, local chapters, and any other community touchpoints.
If you experience or witness behaviour that violates this Code, report it immediately. We aim to respond to every report within 24 hours.
Expected Behaviour.
All participants are expected to:
- -Be respectful and considerate in all communications and interactions
- -Assume good faith and ask for clarification before reacting
- -Accept constructive feedback gracefully
- -Focus on what is best for the community, not only individual benefit
- -Show empathy toward other community members
- -Use welcoming and inclusive language
- -Respect differing viewpoints and experiences
Unacceptable Behaviour.
The following behaviours are unacceptable and will not be tolerated:
- -Harassment, intimidation, or discrimination in any form
- -Violent or threatening language directed at another person
- -Sexist, racist, or otherwise discriminatory jokes or language
- -Posting sexually explicit or violent material
- -Publishing others' private information without explicit consent
- -Personal insults, especially those using racist or sexist terms
- -Unwelcome sexual attention or advances
- -Disrupting talks, workshops, or community discussions
- -Advocating for, or encouraging, any of the above behaviours
Reporting Violations.
If you experience or witness unacceptable behaviour, contact the organising team at conduct@extractsummit.io. Reports are reviewed by the organising committee and handled confidentially.
Include as much context as possible: the time, place, and nature of the incident, plus any witnesses. Screenshots or other documentation help where available.
We will never ask you to confront someone who made you uncomfortable. Enforcement is handled directly by the organising team.
Consequences.
Anyone asked to stop unacceptable behaviour is expected to comply immediately. Violations may result in:
- -A formal warning from the organising committee
- -Removal from the current session or event
- -A permanent ban from all Extract Summit events and community spaces
Decisions are made by the organising committee and are final.
Scope.
This Code of Conduct applies to all Extract Summit community spaces, including Discord, online events, local chapter meetups, and affiliated social media activity. It also applies when someone is representing Extract Summit in public spaces.
